Caring for You Car
With the cost of fuel increasingly on the rise and energy resources becoming more limited, most of our customers want to know ways to save on fuel and protect their vehicles. There are many factors you can adjust to help keep fuel and maintenance costs down. Here is what we suggest:
Start your engines!
Plan ahead. Protect your engine’s efficiency by letting your car warm up during cold weather. We recommend that you crank your car at least 10 minutes prior to departure. Also, try to make a list of places you have to go and plan your trip accordingly. Taking care of errands located close together instead of making multiple trips back and forth across town will keep your fuel costs at a minimum.

Do you have a lead foot?
A vehicle’s fuel economy drops dramatically with speeds over 60 miles per hour. Aggressive driving also contributes to the number of stops at the pump. If you live in the city, avoid jump starts and excessive braking to give your wallet a break.

Lighten Your Load
We all know that aerodynamics play into getting us where we are going faster and with less effort. Keep that in mind when you’re packing for trips, and try not to store items on top of your car.

Stop for Maintenance
In the busy world we live in, most of us have become reactive and not proactive; only stopping in for service when we need an inspection or repair. By taking the time for regular tune-ups, oil changes, and filter replacements, you can minimize the frequency of costly repairs. Clean air filters play a big role in gas mileage efficiency, and keeping your tires at the pressure recommended by the manufacturer can improve gas mileage by up to 5% according to the FCC.
